Stewards of the Soil

For those in Napa and certainly for everyone at Realm, it’s nearly impossible to overstate the influence of Salvador Renteria and Andy Beckstoffer on Napa Valley grape growing. Salvador Renteria, a Mexican immigrant who got his start at Sterling Vineyards in 1964, brought with him an unprecedented level of hard work and innovation as well as an instinctual ability for farming and people. After working for 23 years as a laborer, foreman and vineyard manager in Napa Valley, he founded Renteria Vineyard Management in 1987, building it into one of the largest and most respected vineyard management companies in the northern Bay Area.

From a different path, Andy Beckstoffer is one of the early and important leaders in the evolution of Napa Valley as a world-renowned grape growing region. As proprietor of Beckstoffer Vineyards, among many other professional roles, Andy’s foresight, vision and business acumen raised the bar for all Napa Valley grape growers, and his commitment to excellence and innovation are benchmarks for the industry. Realm has enjoyed a long relationship with Andy, who was one of the first and most prestigious growers to sell grapes to Realm in 2002. We have purchased grapes from his Napa Valley vineyards ever since.
