Realm x Hauser & Wirth LA

It felt like a welcome convergence when we learned that the art of Luchita Hurtado would be on view at Hauser & Wirth days before the release of our 2023 Houyi Estate, which features Hurtado's Air, Water, Earth.

We’ve been admirers of Hauser & Wirth for years. Their spaces—across cities and continents—have introduced us to remarkable artists and unforgettable exhibitions. But we hold a special affection for the Downtown Los Angeles location. It's bold and unconventional, with vast warehouse-like galleries, open-air courtyards, and Manuela, a restaurant named for co-founder Manuela Wirth that we return to again and again.

We first saw Air Water Earth by Luchita Hurtado, a Venezuelan-born, Los Angeles-based artist, at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles several years ago. The painting spoke to us, as did the story of Hurtado’s life, and the piece stayed with us for months, then years. Her work is honest and grounded, and we’ve come to admire her deeply—for both her vision and her voice.

We’re excited to invite you to an evening celebrating our Fall Release wines and the art of Luchita Hurtado. We’ll begin with a private gallery tour of the exhibition, followed by a family-style dinner at Manuela, featuring seasonal American cuisine with ingredients sourced from local farms and producers. Hosted by Scott Becker, the dinner will be paired with a selection of Realm wines—including the 2023 vintages of The Tempest, Houyi Estate, Moonracer Estate, and Hartwell XX Estate.
